Hosted by The Cleveland Foundation:

On a single day, Sunday, July 30, 2017, you can be a part of an exciting region-wide initiative to explore our community’s power to communicate and connect in order to build a stronger, safer and more dynamic home.

What is Common Ground?

Common Ground is a county-wide community conversation. The Cleveland Foundation is working with partners across the region to bring Cuyahoga County residents together on one day this summer to meet, share a meal, connect and discuss what we can do together to create a more equitable and resilient Greater Cleveland – our shared home, our common ground.

When is it?

Common Ground will take place on Sunday, July 30, 2017. That day, our community will come together during mealtime conversations– breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-between.

Who should participate?

Any Cuyahoga County resident who cares about the future of our community and wants to be a part of a forward-looking conversation.

Where will it happen?

In partnership with many organizations and civic leaders in our community, we will gather across the county in the places we share — the places where we live, where we work, and where we play. Common Ground conversations will take place in neighborhoods, community organizations, parks, churches, individual homes and in downtown Cleveland’s Public Square.

Why Common Ground?

We are all connected by the space we share. Common Ground seeks to create spaces where meaningful connections between people become possible. By meeting on our common ground, the place we all call home, we create the opportunity for familiarity, understanding, and inspiration to take shape.

How can I participate?

Residents can get involved in Common Ground in two ways:

  • Host a Conversation: Work with your neighbors, co-workers or friends to host a conversation on July 30 in the space and at the time of your choosing. Learn more and register to host using the link below.
  • Join a Table: Conversations are happening at locations across Cuyahoga County and in Downtown Cleveland’s Public Square. All events are free, but you must register. Use the links at the top of the page or below to find a conversation and register to attend.
