Reentry Week 2021 (April 26 – April 29)

Cleveland Neighborhood Progress is partnering with Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry and Economic Community Development Institute (ECDI) for Reentry Week 2021 (April 26 – April 29) to increase the public’s understanding of barriers affecting individuals returning home from prison or jail and support local businesses that seek to reintegrate returning citizens.

This week will bring awareness of barriers to reentry and how these affects reverberate in the community in terms of safety, crime reduction, taxes, housing and employment. We are honored to have nine (9) establishments that are owned by a returning citizen and/or support successful reentry of returning citizensNeighborhood Progress is co-hosting the Virtual Cash Mob Interview Tour with ECDI staff on Facebook Live to market and patronize participating businesses. We ask for your support of event during the week and hopefully long afterwards.

The Cash Mob is the fourth event of Reentry Awareness Week (4/26-4/30). The Virtual Cash Mob Interview Tour will take place on Thursday, April 29th from 12-2pm.  In the past, Neighborhood Progress provided a lolley-guided tour for community partners of participating businesses and purchased food, merchandise, and services to support businesses. While we will not secure a trolley for patrons this year, we are leveraging our respective professional networks and platforms to secure patrons ready to spend some cash and exceed our goal of $2500 . Every year at least 2,300 Cuyahoga County residents finish serving their prison sentence and rejoin the community.
