Cleveland Neighborhood Progress Announces 2018 Cleveland VOTES Grantees

Cleveland, Ohio – Today, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress is proud to announce its 19 grantees for the 2018 Cleveland VOTES grant cycle. Grantees will convene on June 20, 2018 at the Grantee Kick-Off Training facilitated by Cleveland VOTES. We are grateful for the support of The George Gund Foundation and Nonprofit VOTE; not only our committed funders, but also strong supporters of nonpartisan voter engagement and mobilization.

Cleveland VOTES received twenty-two (22) request for proposal submissions
from community development corporations, academic institutions, and community nonprofits throughout Cleveland and its surrounding neighborhoods. Jennifer Lumpkin, Civic Engagement Strategy Manager for the voter mobilization initiative, says “this robust group of grantees will inform and shape the framework of equitable civic engagement and how we build a more aware and civic-minded public. Our grantees have already demonstrated their capacity to engage communities and the 2018 grantee cycle will employ a more collaborative and integrated approach to how build democracy here in Cleveland.”

Following the June 20 Grantee Kick-Off Training, Cleveland VOTES will conduct two Nonpartisan Voter Engagement Trainings for any and all non-profits. The training will be held on July 24th, open to the public and available for registrants here. The training will be followed by a film series that will culminate with a screening of Dispatches from Cleveland on National Voter Registration Day on September 25, 2018.
