Learn how to plant and care for trees in your neighborhood!

Trees are a critical piece of our community: trees improve public health and safety, add economic value to residential properties and businesses, meet environmental challenges, and improve our natural world and wildlife.

Community members are invited to learn how to plant, care for and maintain trees at an upcoming series of Sherwick Tree Steward Training workshops hosted by Holden Forests & Gardens and Western Reserve Land Conservancy at East End Neighborhood House (2749 Woodhill Rd, Cleveland, OH 44104):

  • Wednesday, September 6, from 5:30 – 9:30 PM: Part 1 Classroom Workshop on tree biology, tree identification, and urban/community forestry
  • Thursday, September 7, from 5:30 – 9:30 PM: Part 2 Classroom Workshop on soils, tree planting, and pruning and tree care

Members who attend the classroom trainings, must also take Part 3 and 4 Field Training workshop dates to become a certified Tree Steward. Dates and locations for field training workshops will be announced soon.

All training sessions are free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required. Meals will be served for attendees. Register online at https://www.wrlandconservancy.org/events/category/tree-steward/ or call 216-515-8300 to reserve your spot.

Together, we can help make Cleveland the Forest City once again!
