Join distinguished historian and civil rights thought leader Carol Anderson in a discussion on how voter suppression poses a direct threat to our democracy. While the U.S.A. was founded on the ideal that “all men are created equal,” our nation has a long history of disenfranchisement of women, people of color, low-income people, and people with disabilities. Professor Anderson will discuss how historical oppression continues to manifest itself into present-day voter suppression. There will also be opportunities to take action and volunteer to protect our voting rights.
