Join the City Club of Cleveland for its sixth Dinner + Dialogue forum at SPACES Gallery as we explore the opportunities and challenges for artists in Cleveland with Andria Hickey, Senior Curator at MOCA Cleveland, and Dave Lucas, poet, SAGES Fellow, and winner of the 2016 Cleveland Arts Prize Emerging Artist Award.

Home to such renowned institutions like The Cleveland Museum of Art, PlayhouseSquare, Karamu House, and The Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland is well regarded nationally and internationally for its arts and culture scene. In the last 15 years, the city has also increased its commitment to public art, spending more than $2.3 million for projects by local artists in 10 of its 17 wards. In March, Instagram recently choose Cleveland as one of five global cities for its #kindcomments mural project as a result of all the local momentum around public art.

Clearly, art is important in building neighborhoods and fostering communities. But what does it take to actually be an artist in Cleveland? What opportunities are available? And how are local artists and supporters creating art scenes that are accessible and inclusive to everyone?

Tickets: $20 (includes pierogis, sausage, and sauerkraut from JukeBox, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available). Click here to register.
